How to Develop Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Education in a University Setting: A Guide for Careers Professionals and Employability Practitioners
Editors: Helen Hook (University of Birmingham) & Dr Emily Beaumont (University of Gloucestershire)
We are delighted to invite contributions of practitioner-authored vignettes for inclusion in our forthcoming ‘How To’ guide for careers professionals. This book will provide practical, accessible guidance for embedding enterprise and entrepreneurship education into the work of careers services in higher education. This is an opportunity to share your real-world practice with peers across the sector, highlighting innovative approaches, lessons learned, and impactful interventions that demonstrate how careers professionals and employability practitioners are supporting students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and competencies. Your contribution will help build a rich, authentic resource grounded in diverse practitioner perspectives.
We welcome short, reflective vignettes (approximately 1,000 words) that illustrate good practice, challenges overcome, or creative solutions in any of the following areas. Each area will be a distinct chapter within the book.
- Providing enterprise-related information, advice, and guidance to students
- Embedding enterprise and entrepreneurship within the curriculum
- Designing co- and extra-curricular enterprise activities
- Using digital tools to support enterprise and entrepreneurship
- Working with underrepresented or marginalised student groups
- Supporting sustainability-focused or international student entrepreneurs
- Engaging and co-developing with internal and external stakeholders
- Measuring the impact of enterprise work
- Developing your own professional practice in this area
Please send an EOI (maximum 300 words) outlining:
- Your name, role, and institution
- The chapter topic(s) your vignette would fit within
- A brief summary of your practice example and what you wish to share
- How your vignette will provide practical insight for other careers professionals
